CBA's Best and Brightest
2018 Induction Ceremony
The CBA honored 57 of the College’s best and brightest students at the April 13, 2018 induction ceremony for the Kappa of Ohio Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma. The 50 undergraduate students represent the top 10 percent of the junior and senior classes, and the 7 graduate students represent the top 20 percent of the master’s class, based on academic ranking. Also inducted were three faculty: Dr. Lei Gao, assistant professor in the George W. Daverio School of Accountancy, Dr. Steven Myers, associate professor in the Department of Economics, and Dr. R. Ray Gehani, associate professor in the Department of Management.
Keynote alumna speaker Laura Thompson ’87 ‘92, executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, was recognized as a Chapter Honoree. Mrs. Thompson was awarded honorary membership in the society for possessing the qualities fostered by Beta Gamma Sigma and by furthering the ideals of society; i.e., honor, wisdom and earnestness, as demonstrated through outstanding business leadership and service to the community.
Congratulations to Miranda Radesic who was selected as the 2018 Outstanding Student. Recipients of this award are recognized for achieving academic excellence while making significant contributions to the college or university, and/or maintaining significant involvement in extracurricular activities, and/or overcoming a special circumstance or hardship.
