Finance Advisory Board Economic Summit Awards Program

The purposes of the Finance Advisory Board Economic Summit Awards Program are to: (1) promote and encourage students who show great promise for successful finance careers in business and government, (2) support the student recruitment efforts of the Department of Finance, and (3) maintain and improve the quality and reputation of Department of Finance programs by attracting excellent students.

A total of two (2) awards (one graduate student and one undergraduate student) will be presented during the Finance Department Economic Summit in September 2017. The winners must be present at the Economic Summit in order to receive the award. Each award recipient will receive a Certificate of Recognition and a $2,000 scholarship.

Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum Cumulative G.P.A. - Graduate 3.8/Undergraduate 3.5
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Outside activities/Work experience

The Economic Summit Committee will, in consultation with the Department Head, recommend the award recipients to the Executive Committee of the Finance Advisory Board by February 24, 2017. Each award recipient will also receive ongoing career advice and counseling from faculty members in the Department of Finance.
