Cooperative Education and Student Internships

The cooperative education program at The University of Akron aims to provide students with valuable work experience that is intended to be representative of what they may encounter in their post-academic careers.

While the co-op program is not mandatory, allowing flexibility for non-traditional students, over 90% of all eligible students in some departments participate.

In addition to the cooperative education plan, which is primarily geared toward Engineering majors, students have opportunities to participate in internships and summer research.
