Weinan Xu is an assistant professor in the Department of Polymer Engineering at the University of Akron. He was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Johns Hopkins University (2016-2019), he received his PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology (2015), and his B.S. degree in Polymer Science and Engineering from Donghua University, China (2011).
His current research is focused on stimuli-responsive functional polymers, 2D layered materials, and advanced micro/nanofabrication of unconventional 3D structures, for their applications in biosensing, bioelectronics and energy conversion.
