07/28/2014

Sharon BuddCollege of Education alumna Sharon Budd has been moved to a rehabilitation facility specializing in brain injuries.  Budd continues the fight to recover from massive injuries sustained when a 7-pound rock was thrown through the windshield of her car from an overpass.  While she has a long recovery ahead of her, doctors and her family are seeing progress. She is breathing on her own and is able to mouth basic words.

Budd, a much-loved teacher in the Perry Local Schools (Stark County), had been treated at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. The rehab facility is located in the same region.

She graduated from the UA College of Education in 1985 with a bachelor's in Secondary Education (English) and received her master's in Secondary Education specializing in Literacy in 2011.
