Alison White promoted to director of Ohio STEM Learning Network-Akron Hub

Alison L. White, project manager for the University of Akron’s College of Education and the Ohio STEM Learning Network – Akron Hub, has been promoted to Director of the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN) – Akron Hub.
 
As director of the OSLN Akron Hub, White is responsible for serving as a regional STEM facilitator which includes, leading the OSLN Akron Hub strategy development, driving awareness and communication about STEM happenings, assisting with the establishment of new STEM partnerships, sustaining and growing existing STEM collaborations, and developing an online training center and Hub website, among other things.  In addition to these responsibilities, White serves as OSLN’s liaison to several organizations whose joint efforts make up the foundation of the Akron region’s STEM efforts. These partners are the University of Akron, Akron Public Schools, the City of Akron, the Greater Akron Chamber/Akron Tomorrow and Invent Now (formerly the National Inventors Hall of Fame®.) Collaboratively, these founding partners established the National Inventors Hall of Fame® School … Center for STEM Learning (middle school) in 2009 and the National Inventors Hall of Fame® STEM High School in 2012, along with the OSLN Akron Hub in 2010.
 
The OSLN Akron Hub serves as regional center of STEM activity. The OSLN Akron Hub amplifies connections and coordinates collaborations so STEM education efforts can be leveraged throughout the region. As one of seven hubs throughout the state of Ohio, the OSLN Akron Hub operates within the OSLN’s unique collaborative initiative focused on building and connecting STEM teaching and learning capacity in regions across Ohio.  OSLN is built from a consortium of committed partners from pre-K-12 education, higher education, business, government and industry, and is focused on student and teacher success.
