Higher Education Administration (MA/MS)

The program is designed around criteria of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) and with recognized thought of scholars in the various areas of higher education administration. Courses and internships in higher education are directed toward the study of administrative and academic operations of colleges and universities. Internships may be completed at the University or at one of several cooperating institutions.


Admission Requirements

  • 3.0 cumulative undergraduate grade point average
  • If an applicant's grade point average is between 2.75 and 2.99 completion of the GRE (within the past five years) with a minimum combined Verbal and Quantitative score of 280 and a 3.5 Analytical Writing score is required.

Application Deadline

Applications to the master's degree program in Higher Education Administration are accepted on a rolling basis.

Professional management skills are developed as they relate to larger issues of educational mission and purpose. Coursework includes educational foundations, administration, curriculum, student development, history, law, student services, finance, and clinical inquiry and experiences as a means to enhance educational leader performance.

Not all departments offer graduate assistantships. Students should inquire with the department directly to determine assistantship availability.
