Supervise, maintain and troubleshoot departmental scientific instruments and equipment used for engineering research, instruction, and demonstration. Provide instruction, guidance and supervision to students regarding the use of instruments and equipment. Coordinate department activities with other campus units including health and safety. Provide general support to the department including deliveries and interface with physical facilities departments.
Requires a relevant Associates Degree and at least two (2) years of experience working in chemical, biological or medical laboratories and/or industry.
Experience and training with commonly used scientific instruments related to the field of chemical, biomolecular and corrosion engineering, such as a confocal laser scanning microscope, transmission electron microscope, scanning electron microscope, X-ray photoelectron spectroscope, liquid and gas chromatography, particle-sizer, electrochemical instrumentation, etc. required.
