UA Homecoming & Family Weekend

October 11 - 13, 2019

The University of Akron is excited to invite you to attend Homecoming & Family Weekend 2019, Oct. 11-13. Join us to visit with your student and enjoy activities and events that are planned for you! Registration for Family Weekend will begin Summer 2019.

ZipAssist, located in the first floor Simmons Hall Lobby, will serve as Family Weekend registration and check-in. The area will be staffed during the weekend to answer any questions or provide assistance. ZipAssist can be reached at 330-972-7272. 

  • Convenient parking can be found in the North Campus Parking Deck adjacent to Simmons Hall.

Once on campus, you are welcome to park anywhere. You will not need a parking permit for Family Weekend.

On Saturday (Oct. 6th) the Zips Football team plays Miami University at 3:30 p.m. at InfoCision Stadium, and parking attendants will be charging $10 per vehicle for event parking in nearby lots until that time. Family Weekend visitors are recommended to park in the North Campus Parking Deck for free parking throughout Saturday.

Families are invited to use the Weekend Route of the Roo Express, for free, with stops covering nearly all of campus and much of downtown Akron. Maximum wait time is approximately 15 minutes.

Note: There are constantly changing traffic patterns around the I-76/I-77/Route 8 Central Interchange due to construction. Please check the Ohio Department of Transportation website for updates.
