Q: Why did you want to go to UA?

A: I was initially attracted because of the success of the women’s swimming and diving team and I fell in love with the smaller campus feel and integrated community. The Department of Exercise Science and College of Health and Human Sciences made me fall in love with the major from the start. The people are the most welcoming, helpful and supportive individuals that I have ever met. They have played a large role in my success here and the passion I have for helping others.

Q: What campus activities were you involved in?

A:  I participated in Division 1 athletics as a member of the Zips women’s swimming and diving team for all four years. I was also a member of the Exercise Science Club.

Q: What campus honors or awards have you received?

A: I was a two-time Scholar All-American, three-time Mid-American Conference record-holder, eight-time individual University of Akron swimming record holder and three-time All-American honorable mention.

Q: What are your plans after graduation?

A: I will be attending Cleveland State University pursuing my doctoral degree in physical therapy.

Q: What is your favorite memory of UA?

A:  One of my favorite memories is the Glow Run that the Exercise Science Club organizes every year. It is such a fun event that raises money for the club and gives us the chance to run the event or volunteer with it!

Q: What unique things should we know about you?

A:  I am the oldest of seven siblings. I love watching sports, especially the Washington, D.C. teams. I have traveled outside the country multiple times and have traveled as far as inland China.
