Akron Polymer Technology Services (APTS) continues to develop industry relevant workforce development courses for the polymer Industry. With the help of industry partners like Extrusion Tooling & Technology Inc. (ETTI), real-world processing equipment is used for hands-on, practical training of industry clients.

Thanks to the generosity of ETTI President Wes Scott, a ¼” tubing die was gifted to the University and APTS. This die will be used for a flexible tubing extrusion line being refurbished by Lou Fow, consultant to the plastics industry and APTS instructor. Lou’s much anticipated Profile Extrusion course, to be offered in 2019, will teach the basics and nuisances of extrusion materials, tooling, processes and products.

ETTI is a high-tech designer of custom extrusion dies and sizing tools for the plastics industry with unexcelled accuracy and dependability since 1987. When thanked for the gift, Kristin Vignaroli of ETTI replied, “Our pleasure. We hope this extrusion die will help you, your students and our country’s future engineers.”
