Health, Education, Advocacy, and Law Program

The HEAL program is seeking a volunteer law student who is interested in developing skills in the following areas:  client interviewing, case management, document drafting, document review, and drafting advice letters.  In addition, the volunteer will be involved in researching legal and policy issues and drafting memoranda related to implementation of the Affordable Care Act and other policy issues related to non-medical barriers to health faced by low-income families.  Depending on interest, need, and capacity, the volunteer may have the option to take on a specific semester long project. The volunteer will work closely with the Managing Attorney for the HEAL program and will get both poverty law and health policy experience.  The volunteer is asked to commit at least 8-10 hours per week to the project, preferably split between two days of the week.
