Areas of Responsibility: Catalogs/edits and exports into the local library system, Sierra, Library of Congress and non-Library of Congress monographs, along with validated authority headings. Catalogs/edits and downloads Curriculum Center materials and also print serials/periodical titles. Also responsible for hiring/training and supervising Student Assistants for the eServices department.
Cataloging Responsibilities: New book materials (DLC and non-DLC), Curriculum Center materials (edit records and assign grade levels), print serials/periodicals, maps, electronic dissertations and theses; perform special database maintenance projects as needed. Authority work: Export into the library\'s local system, Sierra, new and revised headings from the Library of Congress Subject Headings--monthly list. Assign and update validated subject headings to bibliographic records as needed. Supervisor: Review applications, interview and select for hiring, students, for the position of Student Assistant in Electronic Services Department. Train students for database maintenance and special projects as needed in the Cataloging Unit.
