School of Nursing events and news
The University of Akron School of Nursing is a vibrant place. Throughout the academic year, the School sponsors numerous events to advance the nursing profession.
These include the Annual Distinguished Lecture held yearly in the spring, along with Nursing Breakfast held each May in conjunction with National Nurses' Week.
The School of Nursing is also actively engaged with the University of Akron to promote its Rethinking Race programming each year.
Sigma Theta Tau Delta Omega Chapter
Delta Omega is the University of Akron chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. Sigma Theta Tau International is the national honor society for nursing whose mission is to support the learning, knowledge, and professional development of nurses committed to making a difference in health worldwide.
Nursing students help with COVID-19 contact tracing
Several University of Akron nursing students recently helped the Stark County Health Department with COVID-19 contact tracing.

More than 100 students drove through a UA parking deck and were met by faculty who presented them with awards, honor cords and a variety of other items to celebrate their graduation while maintaining social distance.
