Akron-Region Interprofessional

Area Health Education Center

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Greta Lax, and I am the Center Director for the Akron-Region Interprofessional Area Health Education Center.  The Center is hosted by the College of Health Professions at The University of Akron.

While the federal Area Health Education Centers program has been around since 1972, ARI-AHEC celebrated it inaugural year in September 2011. While many AHEC centers are 501(c)(3)s, ARI-AHEC was the first hosted-model center in the state of Ohio. It has been a wonderful opportunity to be involved in this initiative from the beginning and to get to know so many dedicated and inspirational people across Summit and Portage counties.

This website is designed to help you to learn about the center, our mission and goals and our programs.
