The UA Campus Bookstores in the Jean Hower Taber Student Union and Polsky Building are now open.
Both spaces have been reconfigured to meet the social distancing guidelines. While the guidelines will change how we service our customers, the stores will be open for textbook, school supplies and University apparel needs. Due to the physical space, the number of customers permitted in the stores at one time is limited. Signs are posted and bookstore staff are available to answer your questions.
Q: I’m not sure where to find the list of textbooks that I need.
A: Follow the link in My Akron from your course schedule and select “View My Textbooks.” This link will give you the quickest access to the textbooks required for your courses.
Q: What does it mean if my book list references “Access in Brightspace”?
A: To save you money, we’ve teamed up with the publishers and professors to provide select course materials directly through the student platform where all class information is accessed, Brightspace. The cost of the materials are covered as an “e-content” charge through your tuition so financial aid can be applied. Additional materials are not required. In some courses, print versions may be available for an additional purchase. Please check our website for availability. Based on the course, additional materials may not be required, and the reduced cost will appear on your bill.
When possible, please request all textbook orders through the UA Campus Bookstores’ website and select “Shipping.” Our staff is committed to processing orders in the store and shipping to you within 24 hours.
If you choose to shop in store, please have your schedule in hand to easily access the books for your course and section.
Should you have any questions, please contact UA Campus Bookstores at 330-972-7624 or send a message through the website.
