Rock Wall Policies

  • Climbing is Dangerous.  Climb at your own risk. 
  • All climbers must have a current Climbing Wall waiver on file.
  • All climbers must sign in and check-in with rock wall staff prior to climbing.
  • No horseplay or rough housing.
  • All rock climbing equipment must be used as per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Personal harnesses are permitted- additional waiver required, harness must be UIAA/CE approved for rock climbing.
  • All belayers must pass skills check before belaying.
  • Clean, appropriate footwear is required when climbing.
  • No bare feet allowed.
  • No loose chalk – contained chalk balls only.
  • No topping out on the Bouldering Arch.
  • No Bouldering under other climbers.
  • Climbing above top rope anchors is prohibited.
  • Portable music devices and headphones are not permitted.
  • No food or drink in the climbing wall area (rubber floor).
  • Skirt and dresses are not permitted.
  • It is recommended that climbers remove all jewelry.
  • Maximum Bouldering height is the top of the fourth panel on the main wall and the top of the bouldering arch.  A climber’s wrist cannot go above either boundary.
  • When Bouldering it is recommended to use a properly placed pad and spotter.
  • Report any problems to the climbing wall staff immediately.
  • All patrons must follow and respond to staff directions.
  • Staff reserves the right to ask you to leave if you create an unsafe environment.
  • Violation of these policies is subject to disciplinary action or loss of privileges.

Youth Rock Wall Policies

In addition to the polices listed above the following apply to Youth (Family Membership) participants-

  • Family/youth climbing is only permitted during family membership hours, hours are subject to change.
  • All Youth climbers must be 13yrs old or older.  Youth under the age of 13 are not permitted to climb.
  • Youth under the age of 18 must have a minor waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian
  • Parent or legal guardian must be present at all times for climbers under the age of 17.
  • Maximum youth to parent ratio is 2:1
  • Climbers under the age of 17 must wear a climbing helmet while top rope climbing.
  • Both the parent and youth must participate in family climbing course and pass required skills assessment prior to engaging in family climbing.
  • Parent must belay for youth climbers.
  • Belay age is 17 yrs old.
  • Youth under the age of 16 are not permitted to spot while bouldering.
  • It is recommended that parent spot for youth while bouldering.
