National Make a Difference Day is a national day of helping others. Held annually in October, millions of Americans are rallied into a single day of action to help change the world. The University of Akron has participated in Make a Difference Day for many years. 2022 marks the 18th year of our participation!

Volunteer Registration

Registeration will open on Tuesday, September 6th and can be found on the serveAkron page on RooConnect.

  Day of Information 

This year, The University of Akron will be participating in Make a Difference Day on Saturday, October 22, 2022.

October 22nd is National Make a Difference Day and UA is proud to serve among the thousands of volunteers dedicating their time across the nation. Over 20 non-profit agencies have agreed to host student volunteers and we are eager to interact with them this year!

DETAILS

  • Two shifts are available for volunteers: 9 am-11 am and 1 pm-3 pm. You may volunteer for one shift or both! Remember: If you sign up, someone is counting on you to show up!
  • Volunteers will be assigned locations and shifts based on preferences and will be notified no later than 5 pm, Thursday, October 20th
  • Dress appropriately for weather as some locations will be operating rain or shine. it is incumbent upon volunteers to know what the weather will be
  • Transportation is provided for the student volunteers and a t-shirt is provided as well!
  • We supply the volunteers with light breakfast items and snacks before they leave.
  • Any current University or non-profit agency protocols related to Covid-19 on the date of the event are expected to be adhered to by volunteers.
