Laura Taxel

Laura Taxel is an award-winning journalist and author. Her work earned a favorable review in the New York Times when she was just twenty-one. Her most recent book, Cleveland’s West Side Market: 100 Years & Still Cooking, coauthored with Marilou Suszko, was published by the University of Akron Press in 2012. After more than forty years as a writer, she is still thrilled to be telling stories.


Marilou Suszko

Marilou Suszko is the author of two cookbooks: Farms & Foods of Ohio: From Garden Gate to Dinner Plate, and The Locavore's Kitchen. As a food writer, her work appears in local, regional and national publications. A culinary instructor and a frequent guest speaker, Marilou's career has revolved around food for more than twenty-five years but her most valuable experience comes from a lifetime of enjoying wonderful food.


Barney Taxel

Barney Taxel moved to Cleveland from New York City in 1967. He is an award-winning commercial and fine art photographer and a teacher of photography. His work is exhibited and reproduced frequently in regional publications and the New York Times. Taxel has several books to his credit, including Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, Cleveland: Continuing the Renaissance, The Science of Music as Medicine, and Cleveland's West Side Market: 100 Years & Still Cooking.
