Located downtown, the Polsky Building is home to UA's Summit College. The Art Deco building was built in 1929 at a reported cost of $2.1 million. For decades it was a regional shopping destination, known for its animatronic window displays at the holidays. In 1987, the University acquired and renovated the building, and today it is one of the largest academic buildings in the nation. The building includes numerous classrooms, a Starbucks, a six-story atrium, a café-style food court, a police station, a bookstore and an adjoining parking deck.
