Message regarding Hurricane Harvey

08/30/2017

Dear Faculty & Staff,

Our hearts continue to go out to those in Texas and all who are impacted by the devastating hurricane and flooding that hit the Houston area in recent days. As we also mourn for the loss of lives, we are mindful of the immediate and longer-term challenges confronting the state of Texas as it recovers and rebuilds.

Obviously, our thoughts are also with members of our UA family – including alumni, students, faculty, and staff who reside or may have family and friends in Texas. We hope that all are currently safe. As you may or may not know, the Red Cross is encouraging people to list themselves and their families as safe.

It is uplifting to witness the local Ohio community mobilizing to offer assistance and support. Ohio Task Force 1 and a number of local search and rescue trained firefighters have already traveled to Texas to partner with other first responders to assist in relief efforts. Ways in which other individuals may help can be found here

We hope for the best for all affected by this natural disaster.

Sincerely,
