Victoria Woodhull (1838-1927) was the first woman to run for President of the United States (1872).

Anne Hutchinson (1591-1643) was banished from the Massachusetts Bay Colony for holding religious discussion meetings in her home.

Sarah Winnemucca (1844-1891) spoke out for the advancement of American Indians’ rights from speaker’s platforms nationwide and before Congressional committees in the 1880s.

Charlie Parkhurst drove a stagecoach across the roughest part of the West without anyone knowing until she died that she was a woman.

Romana Bañuelos (b. 1925) was the first Hispanic woman to serve as U.S. Treasurer.

Sacajawea (1786-1812) was the Shoshone Indian woman who served as guide and interpreter on the Lewis and Clark expedition.

We need your input. The 2009 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) has launched. If you were selected to participate in the survey you should have received an e-mail requesting your participation in an online survey about your academic and social experiences here at UA. The subject line of the e-mail reads “UA Wants Your Feedback.”

A number of prizes, awarded in the form of credit to your ZipCard, will be awarded randomly – but only to those that complete the survey. The next reminder e-mail to students will be sent the week after Spring Break. Be on the lookout for it!

Please help us to improve our services to students by completing the survey. If you’d like more information about NSSE please contact Sabrina Andrews, Director of Institutional Research at (330) 972-7888 or visit the NSSE website at: http://nsse.iub.edu/

Florez is a seamless merge of two distinct voices and personalities over a backdrop of driving guitar. The combination produces a fresh, saucy vibe, laced with enough charm combined with a smooth bass heartbeat and solid background vocals. Their sounds include spirited guitar licks and singing in English, French, and Spanish. Florez combines solid musicianship with vocal charisma, giving voice to the kind of groovy, pop-rock you’d expect from these handsome boys next door. One of the members, Erik, was a contestant on CBS’s “Survivor: China.” The pair has had their songs featured on NBC’s “Scrubs,” and shared stages with artists such as Gavin DeGraw, Josh Kelley, Sister Hazel, and Better than Ezra, just to name a few.

spacer image
It's the summer of 1987, and James Brennan (Jesse Eisenberg), an uptight recent college grad, can't wait to embark on his dream tour of Europe. But when his parents (Wendie Malick and Jack Gilpin) announce they can no longer subsidize his trip, James has little choice but to take a lowly job at a local amusement park. Forget about German beer, world-famous museums and cute French girls-James' summer will now be populated by belligerent dads, stuffed pandas, and screaming kids high on cotton candy. Lucky for James, what should have been his worst summer ever turns into quite an adventure as he discovers love in the most unlikely place with his captivating co-worker Em (Kristen Stewart), and learns to loosen up.

Come on out and see the prescreening of this movie! It is not even out in theatres yet! The movie will start as soon as the 7:17 down in the Starbucks lounge concludes. Arrive early to get a seat!
