Get your summer parking permit May 18 - May 19

The Parking Office will have late hours, until 6:30 p.m., on Monday and Tuesday of next week (5/18 and 5/19). Anyone unable to make it to the Parking Office during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) is encouraged to take advantage of these late hours during the first two days of the summer semester.

Parking Services will also have a table set up on the second floor of the Student Union from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on these two days, in order to issue parking permits.

Associated Student Government is currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to fill vacancies for the following positions:
One year Senator at Large
Summit College Senator
Clerk
The requirements for the positions are as follows:
- Be an undergraduate student at The University of Akron
- Maintain a minimum 2.3 cumulative grade point average (GPA)
- Maintain at least 12 credit hours per semester
- Be in good standing with the University
- Serve a mandatory minimum of 6 office hours per week (senators),
a maximum of 10 hours per week (clerk)
- Be able to attend weekly senate meetings at 5pm on Thursday
evenings

Jumpstart-Akron Needs You!!

Jumpstart is a national early education organization that works toward the day that every child in America enters school prepared to succeed. Through extraordinary attention in yearlong one-to-one relationships, Jumpstart inspires children to learn, adults to teach, families to get involved, and communities to progress together.

Jumpstart-Akron is looking for a mature undergraduate student who is dedicated to serving the community to fulfill the VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR position. This position helps to plan and implement various Jumpstart service projects. The student will also be responsible for recruiting and training volunteers who will assist at service events. The student who occupies this position will work 20-30 hours per week and be eligible to earn an AmeriCorps award of $1000 upon completion of the service term of 300 hours.

The University of Akron's Zipmail is a compilation of University announcements for University students, sent each Friday unless circumstances require otherwise. The deadline for submissions to be considered by the University is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Zipmail is a University of Akron communication vehicle established for the benefit of The University of Akron to communicate with its students. Items will be accepted for publication only when the University is directly involved in the activity through participation, sponsorship, or partnership with one of its recognized organizations, colleges or departments. The University reserves the right to edit or to refuse to run any submission for any reason. Zipmail is not, nor is it intended to be, a public forum or a limited public forum.
