Self-service outage planned for Sunday morning Sept. 4 - Sept. 9
Time: n/a
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
On Sunday morning (Sept. 6) during regularly scheduled maintenance, updates to the University’s databases will be made. At that time, PeopleSoft and self-service applications such as course registration, employee services, and so on, will be unavailable. However, ZipLine and access to email will still be available.

The maintenance should be completed by noon and access to PeopleSoft and self-service restored at that time.

The planned outage will allow Information Technology to make necessary database changes as part of the University’s initiative to split the former College of Fine and Applied Arts into two distinct new units: the College of Creative and Professional Arts and the College of Health Sciences and Human Services.

If you have questions, contact the Support Center at 330-972-6888.

UA to test Z-Alert emergency text-messaging service on Sept. 9 Sept. 9
4:00 pm - 4:00 pm
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
The University will send a test text message to those who subscribe to its Z-Alert emergency-messaging service at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Why? UA tests the service periodically. The Sept. 9 test will fall in the middle of Student Appreciation Day, a time of peak cell-phone activity on campus. Running the test at this hour will tell UA how well the service works when the network is busy. You can help by being on your phone at exactly 4 p.m.

What should you do when you receive the test text message? Nothing. The message will clearly state that it is a test.

What is the Z-Alert emergency text-messaging system? See this page.

Did you know? Z-Alert is on Twitter, too. (We recommend that you sign up for the Z-Alert text messaging service and follow Z-Alert on Twitter too.)
