Do you love to play video games? Want to spend a day playing games and helping out children in need?

The University of Akron student chapter of the ACM is hosting a gaming party to benefit Child's Play Charity and Akron Children's Hospital. There will be free food, PC, console and tabletop gaming, a guitar hero tournament, and much more!

Child's Play Charity is a gamer's organization started by Penny Arcade. Nationwide, Child's Play has raised over $5 million in donations.

Admission to the fun is only $20 in advance, or $25 at the door. We will also accept the equivalent in new or used toys or video games. Advance tickets will be available at tables in the student union TODAY. Pre-registration is also available at our website.

This event is open to everyone, including students, non-students, hardcore gamers, casual gamers, and n00bs. So please invite all of your friends!

For the fifth year the UA community returns to the Gulf Coast for Spring Break to help those communities and families still struggling to recover from the worst natural disaster in U.S history. We are joining two Louisiana communities, Calcasieu and Acadiana, and helping families reclaim their lives by helping to restore homes still ravaged by hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Ike.

This is a great way to spend Spring Break 2110! Help others, make new friends, and spend an evening or two in New Orleans! The cost of the trip (transportation, accommodations, meals) is $400.00. With fundraising, the total cost of the trip will likely be less than $200.

"Hands on Pianos," a recital for eight hands, will be presented on Saturday, November 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the School of Music's Guzzetta Recital Hall. Dror Biran (Israel), Michael Schneider (USA), James Wilding (South Africa) and Caroline Oltmanns (Germany) will perform piano works for one, two, three and four hands. The ensemble will also play famous melodies and show stopping-marches on two pianos for up to eight hands. Included will be Rossini's "William Tell" Overture and Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever." The concert features University of Akron composer James Wilding, who made several arrangements to fit odd needs like three, five, or seven-hand pieces, and wrote a medley on the National Anthems of the performers' four different countries of origin. Caroline Oltmanns narrates with light and insightful comments.

The concert is free and open to the public. Guzzetta Hall is located at 139 E. Buchtel Ave. 330-972-8301 or concerts@uakron.edu for details.

Furthermore, he will discuss the duty of science as a source of reliable information about nature and how the scientist must maintain a balance between moral obligations to society and the integrity of science as being a reliable source of objective knowledge.

Note: Vaccine for pregnant women will not be available. Pregnant women should contact their physician for recommendations.

For accountability purposes, Student Health Services and the Akron Health Department are requesting that you respect the tiers designated by the Ohio Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control.

To speed up vaccine data entry, we encourage students, faculty and staff who are in one of the Tier 1 risk categories listed above, and who wish to receive the vaccine, to preregister at the Ohio Department of Health Web site. Preregistration is simple and you will be able to print off and bring your preregistration form to the clinic. Appointments are not needed and service will be available on a first-come basis.

For specific questions about H1N1 influenza or H1N1 vaccines, please call the Akron Health Department's Flu Hotline at 330-375-2876.
