With final exams bringing the semester to a close, resident students should be aware that the residence halls will close at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, for Winter Recess. Resident students are asked to make the necessary plans to check out of their rooms within 24 hours of their last exam or by no later 7 p.m. Dec. 11. Students returning for the Spring term are not required to remove all belongings from their room, but should follow the guidelines distributed in the Winter Break Memorandum for details and instructions. Information is also available at the front desk of each hall and with resident assistants. Requests for exceptions to stay beyond the closing date and time (e.g., students making approved room or building changes, graduating seniors, law students, students who have a final exam on Saturday, or people involved with commencement ceremonies) must be registered and approved by Residence Life and Housing. Information is available at the Residence Life and Housing web page, at Ritchie Hall front desk during business hours or by calling 330-972-7800.

Students may move into the residence halls for Spring semester beginning at noon, Sunday, Jan. 10. Classes will resume Monday, Jan. 11. The first meal served after recess will be breakfast on Monday, Jan. 11 at 7 a.m.

The Department of Residence Life and Housing will be closed Dec. 25 through Jan. 3. Should an emergency arise, please call 330-972-7123 to contact the staff member on call.
