VERY IMPORTANT -December 2010 Graduates

Master’s Degree Candidates who have not successfully passed the comprehensive examination must do so as a requirement for your degree and graduation. Please come to Zook Hall, Room 130 to complete the formal application.

Note: The application must be signed by your College of Education advisor and returned to Zook Hall 130 by September 17, 2010.
*Study Guides: Elementary/Reading and Special Education applicants may request a study guide with their application.

*Faculty Writers: As a part of the application process, MS/AYA with Licensure Options, MS/Multi-Age, P-12 Licensure, MA/Secondary, MA/Secondary/Literacy Option, applicants need to identify three faculty writers for their comprehensive examination questions, with at least one writer being a faculty member from the Department of Curricular and Instructional Studies.

Please Note: The application requires the names of the three writers along with their signatures.

The SRWC and ONAT will begin its Fall 2010 swim lessons for students, members, and the community during the week of September 14, 2010. You can choose to register for classes held on Tu/Th evenings or Saturday mornings. The deadline for swim lesson registration is 5pm on Friday, September 10th. We have experienced and certified American Red Cross Swim Instructors teaching Parent/Tot, Preschool, Adult, and Youth Levels 1-6. Class registration is limited- early registration is encouraged. The Ride

2 scenic courses for kids and adults ranging from 5 to 25 miles. Course maps will be provided and routes will be well marked. The ride will begin at The Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant located at 510 South Main Street, Akron, OH 44311. The shorter course will run to the Mustil Store located at 248 Ferndale Street, Akron, OH 44304. The longer course will run to the Botzum Road Trailhead located at 2928 RiverviewRoad, Akron, OH 44313. Ride will begin at 9:30 A.M.

Services

Refreshment stops will have energy drinks, water and fruits on each route. Restrooms are available at the starting point and at check points along the course.


Entry Fee, T-Shirts and Bike Rentals

Registration fee before Monday, Sept. 13 will be $15. Late-Registration fee after Monday, Sept. 13 will be $20. A Bike-A-Thon T-Shirt is available for $5. Bikes are available at a rental of $15. Please Pre-pay with the Registration Form to assure availability for T-Shirts and Bikes on Rent.


Legal Stuff

Our insurance requires that each rider sign the liability release (on next page) with this form. Registration will not be completed without it. A parent or guardian must sign the release for a minor and accompany them on the ride. Each rider is required to wear helmet. Helmets will also be sold at the ride for $10 to benefit Safe Kids Summit County.

About Candace- Candace has served as CFO since their startup in May 2006. Ms. Wagner began her career at the BFGoodrich Company in 1979 after graduation from the University of Akron’s College of Business Administration. While at Akron U she was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society and the Financial Management Association. She returned to Akron University while working at Goodrich and received her Masters in Business Administration in 1986. She is a native of NE Ohio, and lives in the area with her husband, Bruce, a firefighter and another University of Akron alumni.
