spacer image
We are featuring the classic - "Cliffhanger". Bring your friends to witness the adventure and peril. This is one of Sylvester Stallone's best movies.
(Refreshments will be provided for those you show up early)

Back Cover Synopsis:
Sarah was an inexperienced climber. She trusted Gabe to rescue her. But something went wrong high above the valley floor...
Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow, Michael Rooker, Janine Turner and Ralph Waite star in this high-altitude avalanche of action: a non-stop adventure peaked with suspense and capped with heart-quaking terror.
For Rocky Mountain Rescue, the mission is almost routine: locate five climbers. With the woman he loves (Turner) and his best friend (Rooker), Gabe Walker (Stallone) braves the icy peaks only to discover that the distress call is really a trap set by merciless international terrorist Eric Qualen (Lithgow). Now millons of dollars and their own lives hang in the balance. Against explosive firepower, bitter cold, and dizzying heights, Walker must outwit Qualen in a deadly game of hide-and-seek.

The student organization who brings the most fans to the women’s basketball on March 2 when they host rival Kent State will win a tailgate party at a 2011 home football game.

It’s easy to participate, just bring as many fans as you can to the women’s basketball game on March 2 at 7:00 pm. On game day enter the main doors and proceed to the marketing table in the main lobby where you and your friends sign in under your organization. Fans don’t have to be a member of your organization to count. So invite any students you know. The winner will be announced during the second half of the game.

The winning student organization can choose the home football game of their choice. 2011 home opponents include Kent State, Ohio, Temple, Central Michigan, Florida International and VMI. The tailgate will include a tent, tables, chairs, corn hole, and food for 25 people.

Cheer on the Zips Women's Basketball Team and help your favorite student organization!

During Spring Break 2011, student volunteers from the University of Akron will trade their swimming trunks for tool belts and team up with United Way to make a meaningful impact in the community of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Alternative Spring Breaks have repeatedly demonstrated the capacity to catalyze a Student United Way by making a difference in a host community while also building the bonds and commitment of a group that in turn can foster the growth of Student United Way back on campus. The energy, enthusiasm, and commitment of young adults makes for a powerful ASB that you will talk about for years to come.
This event will take place March 12th through the 19th in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Students will spend the week volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in a continuing effort to help the community recover form the effects of hurricane Katrina. Find out how you can join us by sending your RSVP to Jennifer Eckhoff at jeckoff@uwsummit.org. Student United Way is a student organization that focuses on making a positive impact on the communities all around us. Please come and join us on this journey as we learn how to LIVE UNITED!
