spacer image
Friday, April 1st, is the graduation application deadline for all students planning to graduate at the end of the summer 2011 semester.

Undergraduate degree-seeking students must apply for graduation through ZipLine. Step-by-step instructions for submitting a graduation application in ZipLine are available by clicking the Graduation Services link in the “Quick Links for Students” section of ZipLine.

Graduate degree-seeking students need to submit a completed Advancement to Candidacy to the Graduate School.

To avoid the $100 late graduation application fee, don’t miss the deadline. Late applicants will need to obtain their dean’s permission.

Additional details regarding the graduation application process and commencement information can be found at www.uakron.edu/registrar/graduation. Questions may be directed to the Office of the University Registrar at commencement@uakron.edu.

This upgrade will enable us to keep up with the growing demands for storage space for things like online course content, streaming video content, and providing new web services.

If you have any questions about this upgrade, please e-mail storageupgrade@uakron.edu.

Singer/Songwriter Chinua Hawk

Date: Tuesday March 22, 2011

Time: 7:17pm

Location: SU Starbucks

Singer, Songwriter, Entrepreneur. These are just some of the words that can be used to describe Chinua Hawk.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Chinua considers himself a citizen of the world. As a performer with hundreds of performances under his belt, Chinua captivates audiences all over the world with the simplicity and class that defines his career.

“My show is very simple -- what you see is what you get,” says Chinua.

Chinua counts himself very fortunate to have performed with Celine Dion in front of a crowd of 30,000 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He’s also written songs with Wyclef Jean and worked in the studio with producer/rapper Kanye West on rapper Talib Kwelis’ song “Just To Get By.”

Chinua’s other accomplishments include winning the Disc Makers Independent Music World Series in 2004, beating out over 1,000 bands with just a guitar player to accompany him. Millions heard Chinua’s song “Can’t Move On” from his debut independent release The Beautiful Things when it aired on the CBS drama Joan of Arcadia.
