We are looking for therapists that are available to work a variety of hours including mornings, afternoon, evening and weekend hours. Schedule will be set at the beginning of each semester. Currently seeking a Mobile Learning Assistant for the 2011-2012 school year to work with our Mobile User Support and Services team. Graduate Assistant will work to support iPad and iPod Touch in the elementary classroom and in undergraduate teacher education classes.

Description:
-Providing AKCEL/Center for Literacy end-user and mobile device support on campus and onsite at local school districts.
-Take calls and email from users, diagnose problems, and recommend and/or implement solutions.
-Responding to, resolving, or escalating trouble calls/ support requests via telephone, email, fax, or Web.
-Creating, updating, and closing calls in the AKCEL/Center for Literacy Footprints tracking system in a timely & clear manner.
-Developing operating instructions and support documentation.


Required Skills
-Strong knowledge of iTunes, iPod Touch, iPad, Garageband, iMovie, Android mobile devices and Internet application technologies.
-Familiarity and experience with Twitter, Facebook, Ning, Blogs, SpringBoard and/or related online course management software.
-Strong written and oral communication skills.
-Experience with MS Office suite.
-Thoroughness, highly detail minded and exceptional time management skills.

Multimedia Design Graduate Assistant

Currently seeking a Multimedia Development Graduate Assistant to work with our team for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semesters on various upcoming web-related projects.

Description:
-Create new design work that integrates successfully with the AKCEL/Center for Literacy brand and logos
-Responsible for the design and production of digital graphics
-Translate designs accurately and seamlessly into working Flash CS4 multimedia assets with meticulous attention to detail
-Work closely with the creative team to concept Flash projects including but not limited to web sites, online banner ads, HTML e-mails and other animations.
-Ability to handle multiple projects at once and effectively meet deadlines
-Digitally optimize images and multimedia for AKCEL/Center for Literacy eLearning design and web pages.

Required Skills:
-Experience with HTML and ActionScript programming (2.0, 3.0)
-Strong design abilities and proficiency in software applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, Dreamweaver
-Knowledge of working with video within Flash
-Proficient in vector graphics (Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand)
-Intermediate or higher raster graphics (Adobe Photoshop)
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Ability to collaborate with a virtual team or work autonomously
-Thoroughness, highly detail minded and exceptional time management skills

The next session of American Red Cross swim lessons will begin the week of June 6, 2011. Certified instructors will teach swimming skills for Children 18 months and older thru Adult learners. Lessons are open to the public and will be held at the SRWC and ONAT pools. Pricing includes eight (8) group lessons. The member pricing applies to current UA students, UA faculty/staff, and SRWC members and also applies to their siblings & children!! Classes will be offered twice weekly on Monday/Wednesday mornings and Tuesday/Thursday evenings, and once weekly on Saturday mornings. Registration is limited, and the deadline for registration in the first summer session & Saturday lessons is by 5pm on Friday, June 3rd. The University of Akron Women’s Basketball Team has rescheduled their Individual Camp date. The annual summer camp is now being held June 27th through June 30th, from 9:00am – 4:00pm. The cost of the camp is $140.00 and is for girls ages 9 to 14. There will be a Li'l Zips Day camp for boys and girls ages 3 to 8 on June 28th from 9:00am-11:00am. The cost of the day camp is $30.00. Check-in will be held in the lobby of Rhodes Arena on the first day of camp as early as 8:15am. The deadline for registration is Monday, June 20th. Payment in full must accompany each camp application. For more information on camp or group and faculty/staff discounts, please contact Candace Smith. Registration is available on the women's basketball website.
