CBA temperature may be cooler for one week Nov. 10 - Nov. 18
Time: n/a
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
Beginning Thursday, Nov. 10, temporary electric heaters will be installed on the first, second and third floors of the College of Business Administration Building.

Following this installation, the system that usually delivers heat to the CBA will be shut down for about one week. The shutdown will allow workers to extend heat to the new engineering building on Wolf Ledges.

Thermal comfort should be maintained by the temporary system; however, please bring a light jacket or sweater in case it gets chilly. The HVAC system air handlers will be used to distribute the warm air from the heaters throughout the building.

Please keep objects away from the heaters. Also, they can be hot to the touch. PFOC Electrical Shop personnel will install the cabling and circuiting to run the heaters and should install cable ramps to prevent tripping hazards as necessary.

Connect Akron no longer broadcast on campus Nov. 11 - Nov. 30
Time: n/a

spacer image
RooTown is the network intended for use by the general student population. Those living in the residence halls also have access to the UARH network.

Since Connect Akron is a project of the City of Akron, the University will no longer broadcast that link. That will help minimize the confusion over which network students, faculty and staff should use. Also, by no longer broadcasting the Connect Akron, that network will be more available to its intended audience, the city and its residents.

The Support Center can assist you with accessing the University’s network. Contact them at 330-972-6888, supportdesk@uakron.edu. You can also find help at http://www.uakron.edu/support-desk/index.dot .

Ever feel like you got meal swipes, but NO need for junk food? Ever wonder how you as a poor college student can help those who aren't as well off as you? Well, if so, I got just the thing!

Join in the cause to brighten someone's day by doing what you normally do every week. Use some of those EXTRA meal swipes (worth $5 at the Zees stores) to collect some food for the poor. Just BUY, BAG, and DROP any NON-PERISHABLE food items in the boxes in the Zees stores. They are collected and taken to the nearest food pantry.

Serving with Swipes: a great way to help those in need!
