STUDENTS ENCOURAGED TO CHECK THEIR SPRING 2012 COURSE SCHEDULES VIA ZIPLINE Jan. 4
Time: n/a
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
Students are encouraged to check their spring 2012 schedules via ZipLine.

• Log into ZipLine with your UANet ID and password
• Click on the “Students” tab and select “Student Center” under the “Access My” section.
• Information regarding course meeting times, days and room location is given in real-time; in other words, all information is up to date as it is retrieved.

The Office of the University Registrar sends an e-mail to the instructor of record and all enrolled students’ UANet e-mail address when there is a classroom change made in the course(s) they are enrolled. It is recommended that instructors and students check their UANet e-mail often for any important messages from the University as this will be the official means of notification used by the Office of the University Registrar.

Students may access a computer from many locations on campus including:

• Simmons Hall – Lobby
• Student Union – Laptop Check Out and Kiosks
• Residence Halls – Computer Labs
• Bierce Library – Computer Labs and Laptop Check Out
• The Polsky Building – Room 192
• Buchtel College of Arts & Sciences building – Computer Lab Room 103B and Kiosks in Atrium
• College of Business Administration Building – Room 102

Questions regarding your course schedule may be directed to the Student Services Center at ssc@uakron.edu.

2012-2013 Free Application for Student Financial Aid Jan. 4 - Jan. 31
Time: n/a
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
The Student Financial Aid processing cycle is underway for the 2012-2013 academic years. Students may complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) beginning January 1, 2012. Parents and students who are unable to complete federal tax forms early should estimate amounts as accurately as possible and fill out the FAFSA accordingly, correcting the information with actual amounts once the tax forms are complete. Students and parents may complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov .

Beginning February 1, 2012, students and parents who have completed their 2011 IRS tax return will be able to Link to the IRS and transfer their Tax Return information to their FAFSA. This is a fast easy way to apply for financial aid and will satisfy most of the student financial aid verification requirements. The University of Akron Office of Student Financial Aid highly recommends the use of IRS Data Retrieval during the initial filing or when subsequent corrections are made to your 2012-2013 FAFSA.

March 1, 2012 is the deadline to be considered for programs with limited funding such as the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) and Federal College Work Study (FCWS). For additional information visit the Office of Student Financial Aid online at www.uakron.edu/finaid
