None of the rentals registered for security checks were broken into, and what's more, the program deterred burglary throughout the neighborhood. Reminder about state smoking ban March 9
Time: n/a
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
To comply with Ohio's Smoke-Free Workplace Law, UA forbids smoking in any enclosed area, including buildings, parking decks and University vehicles. In order to comply with the requirements of this law and to help ensure that tobacco smoke does not enter any area in which smoking is prohibited, no smoking is permitted within 25 feet of an entranceway, window or ventilation system of any University building or enclosed area.

The law also requires that the University remove cigarette receptacles from areas on campus where smoking is prohibited. That means that smokers will have to fully extinguish their cigarettes when done and then place them in receptacles that are located at least 25 feet from the entranceway of University buildings.

The University is asking all smokers to be mindful of the restrictions in and around buildings, to be cautious and courteous when discarding cigarettes and to refrain from removing cigarette receptacles from their intended locations. More information is available on the Ohio Department of Health's Web site.

Calling all freshmen and seniors for NSSE
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
Think about your time at UA. What experiences have you enjoyed most? Learned from the most? What improvements should we make?

Your viewpoint will help us improve the undergraduate experience. That’s why you should make your voice heard by taking the National Survey of Student Engagement.

If you are a freshman or senior, you have already received an individual link to the online survey. It should take 10 to 20 minutes to complete. You have until the end of the semester to respond, but why not complete the survey right now.

NSSE surveys students at hundreds of four-year colleges and universities about their participation in programs and activities that help them learn and grow. The results provide an estimate of how undergraduates spend their time and what they gain from attending college. Last year, UA was one of 761 colleges and universities to take part in the survey.
