Residence Hall Student Move-Out May 6 - May 12

Resident students will be moving out from May 6 through May 12, 2013. We encourage all students moving during final exams to plan ahead.

To make your move easier, North Quad residents (Bulger, Honors/Orr, Ritchie, Sisler-McFawn and Spanton) are encouraged to use the North Quad Parking Deck (Lot #26). South Quad students are encouraged to use lots adjacent to their buildings. Exchange Street residents are encouraged to use the metered spaces by Gallucci or Exchange. Quaker Square residents are encouraged to use Lot #70 at Quaker Square. There will be carts available for your use at each Service Desk for loading and unloading.

For the safety of personal belongings, students are encouraged to secure their vehicles and attend their rooms while loading. Loading Passes will be available at all front desks. They are only valid for ONE DAY and must be displayed in the vehicle. However, these passes are not valid in ADA parking spaces or fire lanes. Unattended vehicles may be ticketed.

Non-residents, faculty and staff should be aware there will be increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic in residential areas during this time.

Students are encouraged to check their summer 2013 schedules via My Akron.

• Log into My Akron with your UANet ID and password.
• Click on the “My Experience” tab, and then select “Student Center”.
• Information regarding course meeting times, days and room location is given in real-time; in other words, all information is up to date as it is retrieved.

The Office of the University Registrar sends an e-mail to the instructor of record and all enrolled students’ UANet e-mail address when there is a classroom change made in the course(s) they are enrolled. It is recommended that instructors and students check their UANet e-mail often for any important messages from the University as this will be the official means of notification used by the Office of the University Registrar.

Students may access a computer from many locations on campus including:

Stewart's Caring Place is a FREE cancer wellness center. We are a non-profit that offers services free of charge to individuals and families touched by cancer.

Please help us to continue our mission of providing a place to turn, by joining us Saturday, May 11th for The 7th Annual Hope Walk, sponsored in part by The University of Akron.

When: Registration begins at 8:00am, Walk starts at 9:15am

Route: 2.3 mile route starting and ending at the Community Center and circling Summit Mall

Red Cross Wilderness First Aid is a great certification to get if you enjoy the outdoors, leading trips, or would like to learn how to help people who may be hurt in the wilderness. This is a 16 hour certification that we will break up into two days beginning May 18, 2013 in the SRWC Classroom 245. Registration deadline is Friday, May 17th at 5:00pm. The cost of this event is $55 for UofA students, $65 for SRWS members and faculty/staff and $75 for non-members. Akron Women's Basketball 2013 Summer Camps June 24 - June 27

The time is here! Summer is right around the corner and The University of Akron Women’s Basketball team has scheduled their summer camp dates! The Individual Camp is being held June 24th through June 27th from 9am-4pm for girls ages 9-14. The regular single rate per camper is $140.00 but sign up before May 17th and receive $30 early bird registration discount. There will also be a Li’l Zips Day Camp for boys and girls ages 3 to 8 on June 25th from 9am-11am. The cost of the day camp is $30.00. Check-in will be held in the lobby of Rhodes Arena of the first day of camp as early as 8:15am. GROUP DISCOUNTS AS LOW AS $75 PER CAMPER AND FACULTY/STAFF DISCOUNTS ARE AVAILABLE!!! Camp brochures and online registration are available on the women’s basketball website and payment in full must accompany each camp application.
