From Motown favorites to “Old Time Rock and Roll,” audiences will have plenty of music to sing and dance to at the Lock 3 stage at 200 S. Main St., on Aug. 9 and 10.

On Aug. 9, Victory Highway takes the stage at 7 p.m., followed by Hollywood Nights - The Bob Seger Experience, at 8:30 p.m.

Victory Highway is a Northeast Ohio-based band that plays music favorites from the 70s through today, covering the hits of everyone from Journey and ZZ Top to Carrie Underwood. Hollywood Nights - The Bob Seger Experience pays tribute to Seger and his Silver Bullet band by playing such hits as "Old Time Rock n Roll," "Against the Wind,"  "Hollywood Nights," "Fortunate Son" and "Higher and Higher."

On Aug. 10, the evening will begin at 7 p.m. with Best Kept Secret, followed at 8:30 p.m. by The Touch Group, The Old School and Motown Explosion. The Touch Group sings some of the biggest hits of many groups, including The Four Tops, Earth Wind & Fire, Marvin Gaye, The O'Jays, The Jackson 5 and The Temptations.

Admission is free to the Aug. 9-10 concerts, which are part of the entertainment and activities planned this summer in Downtown Akron, much of it free.

Through the uArts Initiative — UA's special, exclusive arrangement with the city of Akron — students, faculty and staff can receive free admission to some of the city-sponsored events that require paid admission.
