Three projects are under way that will affect parking this academic year. The three projects are:
  • The expansion of Guzzetta Hall;
  • The construction of a new engineering building on Wolf Ledges Parkway; and
  • The construction of a new residence hall near Gallucci Hall.

If you plan ahead, you can minimize the effect that these changes have on you. Here are some answers to questions you may have:

What lots are affected by the construction?
The lots between Guzzetta Hall and Robertson Dining Hall (lots 30 and 31) have been eliminated, as have lot 70 on Wolf Ledges Parkway and lot 40 at Exchange and Buckeye streets. In addition, the front (north) section of lot 46 in near Gallucci Hall will close Monday, Aug. 29. All of lot 46, however, will be open Friday, Aug. 26 for use by students moving into the residence halls. This map shows where these lots are.

What days are the busiest for parking?
Parking is in greatest demand between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Wednesday is the busiest day, followed by Monday. Tuesday and Thursday are a little better. Friday afternoon is usually light. If your classes meet during the peak times, you may want to leave home earlier to give yourself time to find a space and get to class on time.

What lots are underused?
Lot 71 (site of the former Student Administrative Services Building) on East Mill is an excellent choice, as is the East Campus Parking Deck (lot 1). Lot 71 is one block north of the North Campus Parking Deck. The East Campus Parking Deck has easy access to Route 8. Both are about a five-minute walk to the center of campus. This map shows where these lots are.

Where can I learn more?
