Circle K Wants: Motivated people passionate about service!
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
Circle K International is looking for college students with big hearts and time to donate. Our mission is to develop college students into responsible citizens and leaders with lifelong commitment to serving the children of the world. Circle K is involved in service projects such as Haven of Rest, Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, etc.

Circle K also involves friends and fellowship. We meet people and make friends all over the state by interclubbing with the other 24 Circle K Clubs in Ohio.

As a Kiwanis organization, Circle K offers career and networking opportunities. "Kiwanians" and "Circle K"ers are valuable networks of people to know who will care about you when you’re looking for a job.

Along with service and fellowship, the third tenet of Circle K is leadership. Currently there are leadership positions available to serve as committee chairs. Positions open on the service committee must be filled immediately! Those jobs involve calling various places to organize service projects by setting dates, times and places for us to volunteer. This is a great place to realize your potential as a leader. It also looks great on a resume! If this sounds like you, then please let us know! You can contact our public relations chair, Allison Gemzer, at ang13@uakron.edu.

Tartuffe from Moliere coming to Daum Theatre Oct. 20 - Oct. 29

The University of Akron School of Dance, Theatre and Arts Administration presents Tartuffe by Molière. Performances are October 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, and 29 at 8 p.m. and October 23 at 2 p.m. at Daum Theatre in Kolbe Hall, 328 Buchtel Common, on The University of Akron campus.

Tickets are $8 for general admission and $5 for seniors and UA faculty, staff and students. The ticket office opens one hour before each performance. For reservations call 330-972-7895. A group discount is available in advance for 10 or more patrons. Visit the Web site http://www.uakron.edu/dtaa/ for more information.

UA Theatre Professor James Slowiak is the director of Tartuffe. Written by Molière, one of Europe’s greatest 17th century dramatists, Tartuffe challenges the intolerance, extremism and secrecy found in any society where power is out of control. Tartuffe presents the story of a treacherous imposter who hides behind exaggerated piety and social convention in an attempt to swindle a family out of its wealth and its home. While staying true to Molière’s time and intent, Slowiak’s production underlines that Tartuffe is a play for all ages.
