UA is one of 15 higher education institutions in Northeast Ohio participating in College 360, a new collaboration aimed at college students like you. The goal of the College 360 presidents is to ensure a first-rate college experience in Northeast Ohio.

One way is to make it easier for NE Ohio students to connect with the resources available to them in Northeast Ohio. To that end, a Web site has been established at www.college360.org to provide students with internship and cultural information. This Web site is only one component of a program that will continue to grow in scope and impact during your college career. To this end, College 360 organizers invite your feedback and suggestions, all of which will be given personal and serious consideration.

Student Health Services is pleased to announce that free, anonymous, on-campus HIV Testing will be available on Tuesday, November 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Testing is done by appointment only and is available to all students at The University of Akron. Tests may be designated as anonymous or confidential. You can return in one week for your results. This is a fast, easy and free opportunity to get tested for HIV.

It never hurts to get tested, especially if you are sexually active and not using protection consistently, or if you are sharing needles. The OraSure test is a no-blood, no-needle test that takes only a few minutes. A trained professional gives the person getting tested an OraSure pad that is placed between cheek and gum and rubbed back and forth until it is moist. The test is more than 99 percent accurate. The test results are back in one week.

To make your anonymous or confidential appointment, or if you have questions about the testing, please call Student Health Services at 330-972-7808. Student Health Services will need just your birth date and the time you would like to be tested. E-mail scheduling will not be accepted. Just call 330-972-7808 today.
