Check your spring 2006 course schedules via ZipLine

Students are encouraged to check their spring 2006 schedules by clicking on the ZipLine button located in the lower-right corner of The University of Akron’s home page at http://www.uakron.edu and logging in with their UANet ID and password. Click on the “Students” tab, select “Academics” from the list and then select “View My Class Schedule.” Course information including meeting time(s), day(s) and room location(s) is given in real-time; in other words, all information is up to date as it is retrieved.

The Office of the University Registrar will e-mail enrolled students at their UANet e-mail addresses when classroom changes occur for their course(s). It is recommended that students check their UANet e-mail often for any important messages from the University as this will be the official means of notification used by the Office of the University Registrar.

Students may access a computer from many locations on campus including:

Simmons Hall – lobby

Student Union – laptop check-out and kiosks

Residence Halls – computer labs

Carroll Hall – Adult Focus Office, Room 55

Bierce Library – computer labs and laptop check-out

The Polsky Building – Room 192

Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences building – computer lab Room 103B and kiosks in atrium

College of Business Administration building – Room 412G

To assist the needs of the campus community, the Office of the University Registrar will maintain special hours of operation during the first week of the spring 2006 semester. Hours of operation are as follows:

Week of January 9: Monday, Thursday, Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Week of January 16: Monday - Closed for Martin Luther King Day observance
Tuesday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m .
Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Beginning on January 23, the Office of the University Registrar will return to normal hours of operation:

Monday, Thursday, Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
(except during University holidays and breaks)

Rock-climbing competition at Rec Center Jan. 21

On Jan. 21, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center will hold its annual Bouldering Competition, part of an intercollegiate competition with five other universities. We will have climbs for all skill levels. There will be prizes for the top 3 winners in each division. Registration will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m., and climbing will start at 10 a.m. This is a student-only competition; the price is $10 per competitor.

Prizes will be awarded to those that climb in at least three competitions. The competition is limited to 40 climbers. All climbers must be college students with valid university identification.

The University of Akron's Zipmail is a compilation of University announcements for University students, sent each Friday unless circumstances require otherwise. The deadline for submissions to be considered by the University is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Zipmail is a University of Akron communication vehicle established for the benefit of The University of Akron to communicate with its students. Items will be accepted for publication only when the University is directly involved in the activity through participation, sponsorship, or partnership with one of its recognized organizations, colleges or departments. The University reserves the right to edit or to refuse to run any submission for any reason. Zipmail is not, nor is it intended to be, a public forum or a limited public forum. Questions about the implementation of this policy may be directed to zipmail@uakron.edu.

Items to be considered for inclusion in Zipmail should be sent through the Zipmail Event Submission Form. Due to the volume of submissions received, items will not run more than one time.
