Hurricane Relief Spring Break Trip Opportunity March 25 - April 1

The University of Akron is coordinating a hurricane relief Spring Break opportunity for interested students, faculty, and staff. In collaboration with National Relief Network, the University is offering the opportunity for our university community members to travel to either Biloxi, Mississippi or St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, March 25 – April 1, to assist residents and municipalities with the restoration of hurricane-devastated communities.

The per-person cost of the service trip is $474.00, however, the University is actively seeking to lower this cost through fundraising. The trip fee covers bus transportation, accommodations, and meals.

Academic credit may be available through your degree program for this experimental learning opportunity. We will work with the Office of the Provost in exploring this option for students.

If you are interested in this service opportunity, contact us at 330-972-7002 or lead@uakron.edu.
We will provide as much direction as possible to assist you in funding this service opportunity. Sponsorship packets are available for those interested in inviting businesses, churches, community and student organizations, friends and family, to financially support this hurricane relief service trip. A $30.00 deposit is due by March 1 and the balance is due by March 10. For access to registration materials email us at lead@uakron.edu.

If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact the Office of Leadership and Development, Student Union 211, at 330-972-7002 or at lead@uakron.edu.
