spacer image
spacer image
You will be entered in a drawing for an iPod Shuffle if you complete this survey today. The survey aims to assess the racial climate on campus.

The results of the survey will be used to help plan and implement activities that promote "inclusive excellence," one of five core principles defined in the University's forthcoming Academic Plan. The goal of the inclusive excellence principle is to enhance the educational experiences and outcomes achieved by all students.

A research group associated with the University’s Institute for Teaching and Learning is coordinating the survey.

Participants needed for stress-reduction study
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
WHO: 18-24-year-old students
WHAT: STRESS RESEARCH STUDY comparing three interventions: healing touch, coaching and healing touch with coaching
WHEN: Mutually convenient time
WHY: You may get relief of your stress symptoms;
you will receive $15 on your Zip Card and you will help us understand the benefits of the three interventions.

Details of the research study:
We are exploring the effects of healing touch and coaching on students' stress and comfort levels. Each student-participant will have an intake visit that will last about 15 minutes. Everyone will be randomly assigned to one of four groups—healing touch, coaching, combined healing touch with coaching and a wait-list group. The healing touch and coaching groups will have sessions lasting 20-25 minutes each at week 1, week 2, and week 3 intervals. Surveys will be completed before and after the sessions. The wait-list group will complete surveys via e-mail at week 1, week 2 and week 3 intervals and will then have the choice of receiving a complimentary healing touch or coaching session. Student-participants must be able to keep appointments to remain in the study. At week 4, surveys will be sent via e-mail. Within a few weeks of completion of all sessions and surveys, student-participants will receive $15 on their Zip Cards.

If you are interested in participating, contact me to schedule your intake visit at a mutually convenient time with one of our five researchers.

We will reply to you within a couple of weeks. We have only about eight openings left so we will take participants on a first-come, first-served basis. To apply, please respond to this message, telling us the best way to contact you (e-mail or phone) and what days and times you are available. Please include your UANet ID, Zip Card number and preferably a cell phone number.

Thank you for your interest!
