Celebrate National Poetry Month with the UA Press April 1 - April 30
Time: n/a
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
spacer image
Check out our latest poetry releases:

How We Spent Our Time by Vern Rutsala, whose previous book The Moment’s Equation was a finalist for this year’s National Book Award. Robert Wrigley, the judge who chose How We Spent Our Time as the 2004 Akron Poetry Prize winner, praised the new poems as “conversational, but endlessly skillful in the ways they keep the language vivid and fresh and surprising.”

In Lingo, author Clare Rossini treats both the human and the natural world with tenderness and good-hearted humor. Whether in the Midwest or New England, in elegies or celebrations, Rossini takes comfort in the miracle of words where the homely and exotic can flourish at the same time, like the thought of flamingos in Minnesota (“Rice County Soliloquy”). Clare Rossini will be reading at the O’Neil House on April 30 at 2 p.m.

Other titles in our poetry series include Fire Wheel by Sharmila Voorakkara and Blues for Bill, a collection of poems celebrating the life and teachings of poet William Matthews.

Our forthcoming poetry title, The Book of Accident by Beckian Fritz Goldberg, will be available in June.

These titles and more are available at www.uakron.edu/uapress or by calling 1-877-UAPRESS or 972-6953. Students, faculty, staff and alumni receive a 20 percent discount.
