Loan consolidation program May 3

You have made a substantial investment in your future by borrowing from the federal Stafford Loan Program to help finance your education.

Because we care about your success in managing your student loans, we are sharing with you the most current information on how you can save hundreds or thousands of dollars of interest during repayment. The current interest rate on your Stafford loans is variable and will increase July 1, 2006 by as much as 1˝ to 2% according to most experts. The Federal Consolidation Loan Program allows you lock in your interest rate at today’s lower rate preventing future rate increases.

In order to make the process of consolidating your student loan debt simple, the Office of Student Financial Aid will provide a Loan Consolidation Program this Wednesday, May 3, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Student Union, Room 312.

An online summary of preferred consolidation lender benefits will be available from the Financial Aid Web site here on or about May 15.
