Are you looking for a new leadership position--one that will teach you career-related skills? Don’t look any further!

"Career Assistants" are UA students who are interested in career services and hungry for new leadership experience. Career Assistants are extensively trained to provide services to their peers on campus such as resume critiques, cover letter critiques and classroom presentations.

Career Assistants earn money while influencing their peers and gain essential skills for their own career development.

The application to become a Career Assistant for the 2006-07 school year is available now! For more information, please call the Center for Career Management at 330-972-7747, stop by Simmons Hall 301 or go here.

The University of Akron Press has published "The Book of Accident," a series of poetry by author Beckian Fritz Goldberg. The series of poems is an immersion into a shadowy atmosphere with many strange images, such as the "black mother of black trees" and hummingbirds becoming a "fistful of violet amphetamines." The Book of Accident is like entering a graphic novel with missing panels, a world of feral adolescents, giving the sense of "a world where no one has to love you."

Current students, faculty, staff and alumni will receive a 20% discount when purchasing through UA Press. For more on the book or to place an order, go here.
