New parking available near Simmons Hall

About 100 new parking spaces are now available along Buchtel Avenue in the parking lot of the former Central-Hower High School. Students, faculty, staff and visitors with a valid UA permit may park in this lot, which is accessible from South College Street. The University is leasing the lot from Akron Public Schools.

The parking lot immediately north of this area and adjacent to the Central-Hower building remains off limits to UA drivers. Those who park illegally in that lot will be ticketed by UA, as the school district has asked the University to monitor the lot for it.

This map shows the new lot (in orange) as well as the lot that remains off limits (in brown). The new lot has been designated as Lot 24.

Learn more about parking on campus: UA's Parking Services.
