American Archives Month was established to increase awareness and to promote understanding of archives across the country. Join us on Friday, October 20th from 2 to 4 p.m., in Room LL10-A of the Polsky Building as we examine issues related to film preservation and highlight psychology’s history through film.

Founded in 1965 here at The University of Akron, the Psychology Archives mission is to promote research in the history of psychology by collecting, cataloguing, and preserving the historical record of psychology. With more than 7,000 reels of film, 25,000 still images, 400 voice recordings, 5,000 tests and a rare book collection, the archives is the largest collection of material in the history of psychology in the world. Its collection of over 1,500 artifacts has earned the recognition as a Smithsonian Affiliate, the only archives to have that honor.

We hope that you can join us for this inaugural celebration of American Archives Month. Come see for yourself what the Psychology Archives has to offer. Due to limited seating, please contact Dorothy Gruich at 330-972-7285 to reserve a spot.
