Good news: Classes will return to the Arts and Sciences Building tomorrow morning. Work crews believe they have solved the problem to the line that supplies heat to the building. They are concluding tests on the line now, and they plan to restore heat to the building later today.
While the work wraps up, today’s classes will be held in other locations, as was previously announced. Full details are here.
The building will open tomorrow at 7 a.m. for normal operations.
The University thanks students for their patience and cooperation over the last week. We know the closure has been an inconvenience, and we appreciate your willingness to adjust your schedules to accommodate the relocations.
Many faculty and staff members at the University worked long hours behind the scenes to ensure continued service to students, and we thank them for their extra time and effort.
And finally, the Akron Public Schools graciously made Central-Hower available to us, and the district went to great lengths to make our faculty and students feel welcome. We thank them abundantly as well.
