January, 30th from 5pm-6pm at the Starbucks Lounge in the Union

Did you watch Slime Time Live as a kid and dream about being able to be there yourself? Up 'til Dawn would like to give you the chance to live out that dream at our slime event this year! On January 30th, we will be taking over the Starbucks Lounge in the Union and sliming 3 prominent figures on Akron's campus. Be sure to look for our table in the Union during the month of January so that you can stop by and vote for who you would like to see in the top 3! Relive the 90's this year with Up 'til Dawn and take part in a classic nickelodeon tradition! Who will get slimed this year?!

Looking to get involved? Looking to make a change in student's lives? Then look no further! The Undergraduate Student Government Senate is looking for a Senator for the College of Education and for the College of Engineering. It is not a requirement to be a part of either of these colleges, we simply require that you have a passion for representing your fellow students!

As a Senator, you will be expected to represent your academic college and to attend weekly Senate meetings as well as weekly committee meetings. Senators are also required to hold a minimum of four office hours per week. Finally, all USG members are required to be in good academic standing with the University of Akron, maintain at least 12 credit hours, and at least a 2.0 GPA.

Applications can be submitted electronically at https://uakron.edu/sg/asg/apply.dot and are due by January 25. Just remember to choose Senate as your area of interest, and then send a cover letter and resume to usgSenateChair@uakron.edu. Interviews will be held the following week and an applicant will be chosen from among those interviewed.

foods. Drop them in the boxes located in the Zees stores at Exchange, Rob's Cafe, Quaker Square,
or the Student Union.

The University of Akron is once again serving as the Summit County host of College Goal Sunday on Feb. 10, beginning at 2 p.m. in Simmons Hall. The college financial aid event is presented annually at sites around the state by the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA) and is endorsed by the Ohio Board of Regents.

College Goal Sunday is designed to provide assistance to students and parents in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The FAFSA is the application that is required to be completed to receive federal financial aid, including the Federal Pell Grant and student loans as well as need-based state grants.

In today's globalized economy and with an increasing diverse US population, education abroad experience can be a valuable asset for students beginning their career. However, research shows that applicants must be able to present that experience in a way it's relevant to the hiring official. "Integrating Education Abroad into Your Job Search" will help students learn how to include their education abroad experience on a resume and to speak about it in an interview.

Akron Regional Science Olympiad TournamentMarch 9
