College of Business Teaching Assistantships
The College of Business has a limited number of partial Teaching Assistantships (TA) available on a competitive basis for the 2023-2024 academic year. To qualify, students must be fully admitted, must enroll full-time in a College of Business graduate program and be available to work 10 hours per week. International students whose native language is not English, must have an IELTS speaking score of 7.0 or higher or a TOEFL speaking score of 23 or above. No other form of English proficiency can satisfy this requirement. Prospective students must have submitted their application to be eligible to apply for TA position, but they can be awaiting final word on their admission status. The application period had closed.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Offered: 100% online; evenings; weekends
Advance your career, from anywhere on the globe, to the next level in a convenient format to accommodate your busy lifestyle. Our program can be completed in as little as one year full-time.

Master of Science in Management- Business Analytics (MSM-BA)
Pursue in-depth study in Business Analytics and choose a concentration in either Information Systems Management or Supply Chain Management. This degree is popular with those who have undergraduate degrees in computer science, information technology, management, or related fields, or for those who are planning to work in technology. Students with any background can pursue this degree.

Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA)
Pursue either a professional accountancy option or an accounting information systems option. Students with accounting undergraduate degrees can combine their accounting backgrounds with coursework in information systems and finance to broaden their business knowledge. Students who are newer to accounting can gain the skills to pursue a career in the field.

Master of Taxation
Offered: 100% online; traditional
Intensive training for individuals planning to enter the field of tax accounting and for experienced accountants and attorneys. A totally online program called MTAX Online is also available.
Joint and Collaborative Degree Programs
We offer joint programs, as well as programs in collaboration with a number of departments across campus, to allow non-business students to expand their understanding of business and also reduce MBA requirements if they later choose to pursue the degree.

- the J.D./M.Tax in legal and taxation studies
- the J.D. and Master of Science in Accountancy (J.D./M.S.A.) in financial forensics or financial reporting and compliance.
Graduate Certificates
We also offer graduate certificates in Financial Management and Risk Management and Insurance. See details.
Applying for a Certificate
To apply, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree.
Apply through the graduate school application process and specify that the application is for a certificate program. You will need to complete a new application for any additional program you want to enter.
Certificate Completion
When a student completes the requirements for a certificate, the certificate will be awarded after the student submits an application for the certificate to be issued using My Akron.
Please note: The graduate certificate program requires specific courses, none of which can be waived. Students enrolled in certificate programs are ineligible for financial aid.
