UA hosts grand opening of the Timken Foundation Center for Precision Manufacturing

The University of Akron hosted the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of the Timken Foundation Center for Precision Manufacturing to a group of more than 150 educators and industry professionals. This state-of-the-art renovated facility, funded by a $3 million grant from The Timken Foundation of Canton.

Our student teams are nationally recognized. The Akronauts received the top award for technical excellence at the Spaceport America Cup this year and became the first collegiate rocket team in Ohio to design, build, and fire a liquid engine. There is something for everyone here.
